Portraits

This week  I used photos I had taken of my nephew during the fall for senior photos

For this picture I brightened and adjusted the contrast and color. I also used the clone tool to cover the breaks of light at the top of the picture to make it less distracting.

On this picture I also adjusted the brightness contrast and color. The I used the clone tool to lighten around the eyes. I also used the smuge tool to get a smoother transition around the eyes.

  1. This is a cool way to edit! I think the contrast is a little high and harsh on my eyes, but you did a nice job toning everything up.

  2. Your treatment of these helps to make them more exciting, though I think you need to go further and crop these a bit to make them more effective as portraits. The second one would gain more from a crop. The first one is great, but would benefit from a little rotation and cropping. The tilt pulls attention away from the subject by adding more tension than what is needed. I wouldn't recommend making it completely perpendicular...this would make it boring...but just a bit more...
